Kuat Grip Slide Out Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2022 Mazda CX-9

Hey everybody, Cooper here at etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Kuat Grip on our 2022 Mazda CX-9. The Kuat Grip is going to be a great way to carry around up to four pairs of skis, two snowboards or certain variations in between. Even if you have some of your oversized gloves on for skiing or snowboarding, you can simply kind of push up on the grip and even with my palm open, it does just kind of rise up and keep itself into place. Now we are able to access these skis fairly easily because they're a little bit towards the front. However, if you did have something more towards the back, we can activate the Kuat Grip's slide out feature with these little tabs that are just right here towards the top which does move all our accessories further out and make them even easier to grab and hit the slopes. more

This is going to be the four ski, two board option, but it is also available in two, three, and six ski versions, so you can find one that fits best for you. If you have skis and snowboards and you don't wanna keep them in the car, maybe they're too big or if you just don't want icy, snowy messes damaging the inside of your car, a roof rack carrier like this is a great way to get them up on top of the roof and where you need them to go securely, so let's check out how they work. Basically, we're just gonna press this large button at the end of each set of the carrier to open up the jaws. That will let us get to our gear, you'll see on the top and the bottom, there is this rubberized molding, which just gonna keep our gear secure, but also, keep it from sliding back and forth while we're driving. more

This is going to be for three fat skis or two boards, there is also an option for six fat skis or four boards if you need a little bit more space. But in general, if you're looking for a way to get your skis and snowboards where you need them to go, maybe you don't wanna keep them inside the vehicle, they'll get icy and snowy or they're just pretty bulky, a roof rack carrier like this is a great way to get them to the slopes, so let's check out how it works. Thule Ski and Snowboard Racks Review - 2020 Mazda CX-5

Andy: Hello everyone, Andy here with etrailer.com, and today we're going to take a look at the Thule Snowpack Ski and Snowboard Carrier on our 2020 Mazda CX-5.So taking a closer look at this snowboard carrier, it does have a huge release knob here, that is going to be very easy whenever you have thicker gloves or mittens on, and you need to get your equipment out in order to hit those slopes. One thing also it's very, very slim and streamlined, which is nice to kind of help with maybe some of that wind noise that we might pick up.The other thing to look at is how thick the rubber padding is both on the top and the bottom, and they're going to keep those skis and snowboards very, very secure whenever we're on the road.So let's go ahead and take a look. We'll remove everything and look a little bit closer at some of the features that it has. And as easy as that, we'll get our snowboard removed and we'll reach there and get our skis removed as well.So this rubber padding is very thick, very flexible, both on the top and the bottom, but it will keep everything secured and in there, nice and tightly. If we look a little closer here also, when it comes to mounting or unmounting the carrier from whatever bar you have, which is nice, cause this will work with various different styles and sizes of bars here. We have an arrow bar and it fits nicely, but we'll just loosen this knob and that will release the tension from the strap and we can pull that off, like so.Then to get it secured and mounted, we will go ahead and just tighten that knob up all the way. more

Andy: Hello everyone, Andy here, from etrailer.com, and today we're going to take a look at the Inno Gravity Ski and Snowboard Rack on our 2020 Mazda CX-5. So having the Gravity Ski and Snowboard Rack as an option is great for the CX-5. It gets, as you can see, those longer items, the skis and snowboards out of our cargo area, and it allows us to bring more passengers to the slopes with us, whether it's friends or family. Also, we now have more room in the back of the hatch for any of our other types of gear. Helmets, and gloves, and boots, whatever it be, we can store that back and still have our passengers riding comfortably. Some of the nice features about the snowboard rack are the mounting plates here that will attach to various styles and sizes of bars. As you can see here, we do have them on the Inno Aero Bar and it is a very nice, solid, secure fit. more
